You can now remotely set the bird monitor functionality (if your camera has an internet connection)
Audio recordings made on devices that don't have a connection can now be downloaded to Sidekick and uploaded to the Cacophony servers.
The release includes the ability to run the AI on the camera to control a trap or interface with an alternative communications provider. This is not fully functional yet.
The latest version of the Sidekick app makes it easier to set up the audio bird monitoring on the DOC AI Cam. It also includes bug fixes and logging so we can diagnose what's happening if there are problems with the app.
The battery percentage for the DOC AI Cam is now shown in the Sidekick app and on the new version of browse. This should make the management of your batteries much easier.
The new version of Sidekick now has a Wizard to guide you through the initial set up of your thermal camera/bird monitor. This includes a new help section, an easier way of setting up your APN and various bug fixes.
The new version of Sidekick for Android prompts you to update the location of the camera if it has changed and provides quick links to recently uploaded videos.
We have introduced a new way to connect to your thermal camera. The camera now sets up a Wi-Fi hotspot called bushnet that you connect to. You can then use your Sidekick app in the same way.
You can now make a test recording when you're setting up the camera. The camera will also make short recordings at the start and end of the recording window. We have also added a cow tag.
The thermal camera companion app, Sidekick is now available for iOS on the App store. It doesn't have full functionality yet, but you can use it to set up the camera and update its location.
